Read about Emil’s thoughts on and motivations for joining The Global Forum 40…
How and where did you first hear of Global Forum 40:
I first heard of the gf40 activities through a Mr. Chenon Bah, the former special youth advisor to the former UNFPA-Liberia country director. It was during one of our meetings of the adolescents girls working group of Liberia; a consortium of NGOs networks in Liberia.
Why do you want to get involved with the forum:
I desire to get involved with the GF40 activities simply because I have identified the forum as a perfect venue, whereby my knowledge level on issues such as HIV/AIDS, STIs, youth leadership, life skills etc can be adequately enhanced.
What are your motivations or inspirations for discussing the topics:
I drew my motivations and inspiration from the fact that it provided me with the opportunity to showcase my reasonable ability to communicate my thoughts with others through the process of experience sharing as in the case of the topics we discussed in the application’s questionnaires.
What do you hope to get from the forum?
Quite frankly I hope to get every thing the forum has to offer, however my expectation will be that after such a promising and remarkable event, the GF40 management team will put a system of networking into place to enable the beneficaries to inplement the acquired skills and plans from the forum. Plus at the same time, be able to share our experiences with each other from our respective countries, as knowledge is power but applied knowledge is powerful.
